Big or small, every gift you give helps transform lives.

Our foodbank is run by local people for local people – we rely on the community’s support to ensure we can relieve the poverty that leads people into food crisis in our area.

Apart from a part time paid Coordinator, everyone else at the Foodbank are unpaid volunteers, so we keep our costs down as low as possible, however there are always some overheads and development costs associated with running a charity.

Much of our food is donated by people within our local communities, but occasionally we need to purchase top up stocks of food and financial donations received enable us to do this.

We are very aware that some of our clients find themselves trapped in a circle of poverty that it is hard to break out of. We are working with partner agencies who help our clients with the aim of reducing the need for them to keep returning to the Foodbank – e.g. by helping them get out of debt. We provide small grants to enable these activities and to reduce food poverty.
