National Volunteers Week
Celebrating our wonderful volunteers
Today marks the start of National Volunteers' Week - a chance to recognise and thank all of our volunteers for the incredible contributions they make to Chiltern Foodbank.
We are blessed to have the support of an extraordinary group of people, who give their time and attention to make a difference to those in our community.
You bring a remarkable mix of skills, experience and perspective. It is lovely working together and getting to know you. I have witnessed the warmth and dignity in your approach with each other and with clients. Without your combined dedication and effort we could not get emergency food to those that need it.
A big thank you to all 72 of you, your contributions in the year truly add up:
- 2,600 miles travelled collecting donations
- 44,000 kg of food sorted and distributed
- Enough stacked boxes to reach 3× the height of the Eiffel Tower
- 19 km of sellotape put to good use
- 2,700 parcels delivered, covering 2,890 miles
- £158,000 worth of volunteer time
- 151 homemade cakes and treats shared
Thank you to each and everyone of you.
