Amersham Mayor’s Charity of the Year

22nd August 2023

We are delighted to have been chosen as the Amersham Mayor’s charity for a second year.  Mayor Elizabeth Shepherd visited the Foodbank and is keen to help us as we support local people who are struggling to put food on the table. She is continuing the good relationship established with last year’s mayor Mark Roberts who did a lot to raise awareness of how to access the Foodbank and who supported us throughout his own mayoral year.

It’s a shame that so many local people are struggling to buy the basic essentials in life and we long for the day when the Foodbank is no longer needed. But until then, we are here and keen to support those who need a bit of help at this time in their lives.

If you know someone who is struggling with the cost of food, please encourage them to phone the Food Crisis line, 01494 785660. We will then be alerted and our volunteers will prepare and deliver an emergency food parcel of store cupboard food to their home.
