Chiltern Foodbank, in conjunction with local partners, Citizens Advice and Restore Hope Latimer invite you to participate in a free financial education programme, Money Matters. It aims to empower and educate people so that they can handle their finances effectively and where possible prevent people from entering into debt.

Please join us in calling on the UK government to guarantee our essentials

Next week marks one year since our Trussell Trust colleagues launched their “Guarantee our Essentials” campaign. Monday 26th February, 10am, is the final deadline for signatures. We would be exceptionally grateful to anyone in our community who wishes to lend their voice to this campaign.

Together we provided more than 42,000 meals

Last year we provided in excess of 42,000 meals to local people in need. We didn’t stop there. We also provided support to other initiatives and organisations tackling food poverty, including holiday lunch clubs, community fridges and providers of hot cooked meals.

The recent cold spell took its toll on our trusty, long serving Foodbank van. Our volunteer drivers were confronted with a flat battery earlier this week. Without our van, much of what we do grinds to a halt.

Tuesday 5th December is International Volunteers Day. It is thanks to our volunteers that people in the Chiltern area can get the support they need, which is more important than ever during such challenging times. The resilience, passion, and commitment they show week in week out is truly inspiring.
